In September 2017, the Toronto Workmen’s Circle established a charitable arm – the Toronto Workmen’s Circle Foundation – whose mission is to advance the public’s knowledge and appreciation of Yiddish language and Jewish arts, culture, and history either by organizing public performances and cultural events, or by funding like-minded organizations to carry out program within the scope of the foundation’s mission.
To this end, the Toronto Workmen’s Circle Foundation has sponsored major events, including showings at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival, Toronto’s Ashkenaz Festival, Jewish Music Week, the Harold Green Theatre and continues to sponsor the Workmen’s Circle’s commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, as well as gifting Yiddish scholarship funds and other undertakings.
